A few months ago, I was handled the pink slip due to whatever reason given by the company, restructuring, economy is bad etc .
This was my 2nd time experiencing being layoff.
While life is always full of surprise and shocks /anxiety!
Well, we just has to accept it and move on! Keep yourself positive and don't be dragged down by this sudden job lost event.
Many might turn into depression and hide their feeling and not knowing how to tell their family members..
Life is not always a bed of sweet roses ! When face with any difficulties in fact is a learning curve and make you stronger to take the next challenge.
First thing I did was to take a few days break.
Next, I have to redraft and keep my resume ready to apply any job opportunity that come along.
Correct resume writting format play a very important role.
I have also thought of doing grab delivery or grab driving but since the current Covid situation make it even harder.
I make use of all avenue created by ah kong such as career coaching, professional conversion, career trial, walk in interview , personally it is not as simple as ABC. Many are being jobless and firm will screen through and pick those that has a closer fit.
Also applying as many jobs on online job portals like mycareerfuture, jobstreet,LinkedIn plus many job agencies. The effective one are mycareerfuture and LinkedIn.
The rest seldom hear from them.
I had many job interviews which can be quite lucky as compare to others that don't even call up for any interview.
I also make use of my time to do some stocks trading to keep me active plus writting and posting on my blog.
I am not sure how long the next job offer will come in but we must keep ourselves healthy and do some light exercise while looking for job opportunities.
I am sure with preservances ,determination and a positive mindset the next job offer will come one of this day.
Is good to build up your circle of networking like LinkedIn,Facebook, ex-colleagues, friends that may help you to secure the next job .
Finally, I would like to say is good to get yourself prepare before going for the interview session like what are the common questions the interviewer like to ask, any particular test they may spot check to see your skillsets like programming language/coding, accounting questions etc..
Last but not least, keep yourself positive and All The Best in landing the next job offer.
Stay Positive.. Yr Blog is good.
