AEM - Chip Giant Qualcomm made a takeover approach to Intel this may rock the market! Will this benefit AEM ! Lets see how market react next week

Chip giant Qualcomm made a takeover approach to rival Intel in recent days, according to people familiar with the matter, in what would be one of the largest and most consequential deals in recent years.

A deal for Intel, which has a market value of roughly $90 billion, would come as the chip maker has been suffering through one of the most significant crises in its five-decade history.

A deal is far from certain, the people cautioned. Even if Intel is receptive, a deal of that size is all but certain to attract antitrust scrutiny, though it is also possible it could be seen as an opportunity to strengthen the U.S.'s competitive edge in chips. To get the deal done, Qualcomm could intend to sell assets or parts of Intel to other buyers.(dow jones).

AEM - Gd news from Intel to make special chips for Amazon AWS units that may help to boost their revenue.  Hopefully,  this may benefit AEM.

Described as a "significant expansion" of the working relationship between Amazon and Intel, the two companies unveiled a "multi-year, multi-billion-dollar" framework which will see Intel produce chips for Amazon, starting with a custom artificial intelligence fabric Chip utilizing Intel's 18A foundry process technology.

Intel will also create custom Xeon 6 chips using the Intel 3 node for as part of an existing partnership where Intel produces Xeon Scalable processors for Amazon Web Services.

 Quote: 30th August 2024 - Intel rose 9.5% following a report from Bloomberg that said the chip maker was discussing various scenarios with investment bankers, including a split of its product-design and manufacturing businesses and what factory projects potentially might be scrapped. 

AEM - it looks like has bounced off nicely from 1.20 level and rise higher to close at 1.27, looks rather interesting!



 She will need to cover the Gapped at 1.43, 1.55 and 1.66 in order to reverse this downtrend!

I think it had hit the bottom of 1.20 and managed to bounce-off and rises up to trade at 1.29 to 1.30.

  1st Half net profit of 888K is below my expectations of at least a 10m PATMI. The new AI testing contract awarded is about 20m. 2nd Half revenue guidance of 160m .




10th August 2024 update:

AEM - She has gone down to touch 1.34 and bounce-off to close higher at 1.45, a technical rebound after the series of selling down! 



Will she be able to cover the Gapped at 1.55 and 1.66 and stay above in order to overcome this bearish trend! We shall wait for Mr Market to tell us! I think 1st Half results should be out in Mid August 2024.  

If they are back into profit again plus declaring a dividend will certainly boost the confidence!

 AEM - She has fallen down this morning may be due to Intel worst than expected results for fourth quarter, halt dividend paying out and cutting staff!

AEM - Chart wise, bearish mode! She is heading down to test 1.60 than 1.50 and below! 



If 1.50 cannot hold,  we may see her drifting lower towards 1.30.

CapitaLand Ascendas - 1st Half Results is out! Gross Revenue is up 7.2 percent to 770m versus 718m.




NPI is up 3.9 percent to 528m. Distribution income is up 1 percent to 331m. 


Dpu is down marginally 2.5 percent due to larger no of units.  Comparing to last quarter Dpu is up 1.1 percent to 7.524 cents. I think results is not bad!

FY dpu is down 4% to 15.16 cents.

Gearing is 37.9%.

 CapLand India Tr  - Total Revenue increased 23 percent to 136m versus 110m.NPI is up 21 percent to 103m versus 86m. 




Distribution income increased 10 percent to 54m versus 49m. DPU is up 8 percent to 3.64 cents versus 3.36 cents last year. 



I think results is not bad! 

Gearing is 38.1%.

Occupancy rate is 96%.

CapitaLand Investment (9CI.SI) - Interest rate cut 0.5 percent,  very fierce move ! They are very eager to boost the labor market and at the same time inflation is coming down towards the 2 percent targets! Hopefully gd reit will continue to rise up with this piece of gd news!

CapLand Investment - The divestment of IoN and IoN Orchard link to CICT at 1.85b likely booked a once off gains and hopefully they may pay out some as Special dividend!



Price gap up and is now trading at 2.81 Fantastic!

14th August 2024:

CapitaLand Investment H1 profit falls 6% to S$331 million

Revenue is up 1 per cent to S$1.37 billion for the half year
CAPITALAND Investment (CLI) posted a 6 per cent fall in net profit to S$331 million for the six months ended Jun 30, from S$351 million the year before.
CLI’s earnings per share for H1 also declined 6 per cent to S$0.065, from S$0.069 previously.
Revenue was up 1 per cent to S$1.37 billion for the half year, from S$1.35 billion in the corresponding period the previous year.
The group’s performance comes against the backdrop of a challenging operating environment, with higher-for-longer interest rates, geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic uncertainties, CLI’s group chief executive officer Lee Chee Koon said on Wednesday (Aug 14) at a results briefing.
For instance, fee-related revenue rose 8 per cent year on year to S$561 million for the half-year period, from S$519 million a year ago.
CLI said this was underpinned by improved asset performance and contributions from new management contracts in its lodging and commercial management business. Its fund management business also contributed to the revenue growth, on the back of higher event-driven fees.
The growth in fee-related revenue was, however, offset by the group’s real estate investment segment, which recorded a 2 per cent dip to S$911 million, from S$932 million the previous year.
