What is 2 Gbps Fibre plan?
Each wired connection on the Optical Network Router to your WiFi Mesh, third party router / access point, or Internet-enabled devices can transmit up to a maximum speed of 1Gbps. However, the combined concurrent download bandwidth of all these connected devices in your home is 2Gbps.
Which means to say you will need 2 cables , first cable connect to Lan port 1 and 2nd cable connect to Lan port 2 on the Modem.
Each cable max capacity is 1Gbps.
FOR Majority of the household, you wont need to have 2 Gbps unless you need a separate cable for streaming TV or Video or for Games. You will need a network cable to lay and connect from TV/Device to the Modem Lan port 1 and another Cable/Data point to connect to the router for wifi usage on the Lan port 2 of the modem. You have the option to connect to 2 routers.
The max speed via wifi is about 200 to 700mbps. Cable also depending on the device speed ranging from 300 to 800gbps.
Wifi speed is shared among the no of devices connected.
Is good to check is your house being wired with separate Data points not pointing to the same network point. If not, it defeat the purpose. You may have to lay a very long cable to take care of the Lan Port 2 that may make the house dangling with this extra wire/cable.
At first, I thought of signing up the 2Gbps plan but decided to stick to the current 1Gbps as my Data point is pointing to the same Network point. No point for me to lay a separate cables to connect this to TV or another router as One router can take care of it and the speed seem smooth /ok most of the time.
Just sharing about this 2 Gbps Fibre plan.

If 500 Mbps is enough, then can consider at a cheaper price of 30.45.

This is really the true color of being pumped and dumped scenario! XD today 1st August, the price dropping 16 cents to 2.92. The price is more than twice the dividend of 7.9 cents.
She is heading down to test 2.80. Next, 2.60 and 2.53. Pls dyodd.

SingTel - Looks like the uptrend is over with this hanging man candlesticks appearing on the chart today!

SingTel - I think they are eagle to secure more home broadband subscribers with the latest promo for new sign up for 2Gbps at 39.90 plan come with wifi 6 router and free gifts of either a NEspresso coffee machine or Prism+ C240 monitor!
Price is comparable to other local telco. Seem like their new pricing may add more new subscribers and also boost their local market revenue! Pls dyodd.

SingTel - FY results is out! Underlying net profit is up 10 percent to 2.28b.Net profit is down 64 pecent to 795m due to non-cash impairment provision! Dividend is up 52 percents to 15 cents for Y 2023 , solid.
Final dividend of 6 cents. Plus 3.8 cents realization value gain. Will be paid out in Aug and December 2024.
Strong balance sheet with Cash Balance of 4.68b.

SingTel - Tomorrow she will be reporting her 1st Half results, likely to see a lower profit due to the provision of non-cash impairment of 3.1b. Hopefully, things will get sorted out!
Will they be maintaining the same dividend of 5.3 cents being paid out for last year!
Price will likely be under pressure due to the impending court case for Optus mobile in Australia.
